Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Riyas Komu could be acquired at Christies in New York in September last year for an unexpectedly low price. In the Centering the Figure: South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art from the Collection of Romi Lamba auction, this work without title changed hands for USD 2,400.00 (€ 2,453.24) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Riyas Komu achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Designated March of a Petro - Angel (or Desert March) in September 2008 with an auction result of USD 146,500.00 (€ 104,040.91).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Riyas Komu konnte im September letzten Jahres bei Christies in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Centering the Figure: South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art from the Collection of Romi Lamba wechselte diese Arbeit ohne Titel für USD 2.400,00 (€ 2.453,24) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Riyas Komu erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Designated March of a Petro - Angel (or Desert March) im September 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 146.500,00 (€ 104.040,91).
