This artwork by Riyas Komu achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2008. In the Asian Contemporary Art (Day Sale) auction, the work Systematic Citizen sold for HKD 907,500.00 (€ 74,711.28) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 500,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Riyas Komu; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Designated March of a Petro - Angel (or Desert March) sold at auction in September 2008 with the realized price of USD 146,500.00 (€ 104,040.91).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Riyas Komu erzielte im Mai 2008 bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Asian Contemporary Art (Day Sale) wurde die Arbeit Systematic Citizen für HKD 907.500,00 (€ 74.711,28) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 500.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Riyas Komu; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Designated March of a Petro - Angel (or Desert March) im September 2008 mit dem Hammerpreis von USD 146.500,00 (€ 104.040,91).
