Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2016 Christies in New York held the auction Living with Art, which included the work Potted Plant by Rita McBride. It changed hands for a price of USD 5,625.00 (€ 5,330.74) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Rita McBride - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Parking Structure Interior, which sold at auction in September 2011 for USD 22,500.00 (€ 16,729.87).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember 2016 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Living with Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Potted Plant von Rita McBride zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 5.625,00 (€ 5.330,74) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Rita McBride mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Parking Structure Interior beobachtet, die im September 2011 für USD 22.500,00 (€ 16.729,87) versteigert wurde.
