Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Try Harder to be Free of Country, Water, Sky and Foreign Friends; Don't Frown When you Wear my Crown Around Town! by Rina Banerjee was auctioned at Christies in London in June 2015, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 3,750.00 (€ 5,287.45). Admittedly, works by Rina Banerjee have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work In what seemed at first a monster's colonial dream, leprechauns of amber body and agile mind blew west wondering what it would be like to leave land, ocean, bird, bear, feline and the bounty of horned beasts, to leave our nature for culture in March 2013 with an auction result of USD 30,000.00 (€ 23,408.24).

Als die Arbeit Try Harder to be Free of Country, Water, Sky and Foreign Friends; Don't Frown When you Wear my Crown Around Town! von Rina Banerjee im Juni 2015 bei Christies in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 3.750,00 (€ 5.287,45) den Besitzer.
