Auction result well in line with expectations

The work (I) Bubble, Bubble, Baby Girls Are In Trouble (Ii) In Our Winter And From The East There Was No Beast More Useful Than The "Indian" Unburdened By Passports by Rina Banerjee was sold in the Modern & Contemporary South Asian Art auction at Sothebys in London in October 2016. The price achieved of GBP 4,750.00 (€ 5,291.64) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Admittedly, works by Rina Banerjee have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work In what seemed at first a monster's colonial dream, leprechauns of amber body and agile mind blew west wondering what it would be like to leave land, ocean, bird, bear, feline and the bounty of horned beasts, to leave our nature for culture in March 2013 with an auction result of USD 30,000.00 (€ 23,408.24).
