In the British & Continental Watercolours including Original Book auction, the work Travellers On An Alpine Pass changed hands for GBP 94.00 (€ 133.14) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 100.00 – 200.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Richard Principal Leitch achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A quantity of unframed watercolours and wash drawings, the majority English and Continental landscapes and maritime subjects, some signed and dated '1879'; and eleven unframed brown wash landscape studies by John Callow in December 2004 with an auction result of GBP 2,270.50 (€ 3,213.38).
