The work Two Swiss girls seated near trees; and A page arming a knight by Richard Parkes Bonington was sold in the Old Master Drawings and British Drawings and Watercolours auction at Christies in London in December 2016. The result of GBP 1,000.00 (€ 1,169.16) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Richard Parkes Bonington achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Palazzi Manolesso-Ferro, Contarini-Fasan and Venier-Contarini on the Grand Canal, Venice in October 2021 with an auction result of USD 7,387,800.00 (€ 6,395,256.23).
