Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In January 2017 Sothebys in New York held the auction Old Master Drawings, which included the work The Remonstrance: An Old Woman Admonishing Two Children by Richard Parkes Bonington. The »bidding war« ended at USD 21,250.00 (€ 19,686.86), 18% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Richard Parkes Bonington achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Palazzi Manolesso-Ferro, Contarini-Fasan and Venier-Contarini on the Grand Canal, Venice in October 2021 with an auction result of USD 7,387,800.00 (€ 6,395,256.23).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Januar 2017 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Old Master Drawings durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Remonstrance: An Old Woman Admonishing Two Children von Richard Parkes Bonington zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 21.250,00 (€ 19.686,86) und damit 18% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Richard Parkes Bonington erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Palazzi Manolesso-Ferro, Contarini-Fasan and Venier-Contarini on the Grand Canal, Venice im Oktober 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 7.387.800,00 (€ 6.395.256,23).
