Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Study Of A Sixteenth-Century Half Suit Of Armor by Richard Parkes Bonington was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in January 2017, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 70,000.00 – 90,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 60,000.00 (€ 55,586.44). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Richard Parkes Bonington achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Palazzi Manolesso-Ferro, Contarini-Fasan and Venier-Contarini on the Grand Canal, Venice in October 2021 with an auction result of USD 7,387,800.00 (€ 6,395,256.23).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Study Of A Sixteenth-Century Half Suit Of Armor von Richard Parkes Bonington im Januar 2017 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 70.000,00 – 90.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 60.000,00 (€ 55.586,44) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Richard Parkes Bonington erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Palazzi Manolesso-Ferro, Contarini-Fasan and Venier-Contarini on the Grand Canal, Venice im Oktober 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 7.387.800,00 (€ 6.395.256,23).
