In July 2016 Christies in London held the auction Old Master & British Drawings, which included the work Fishermen in a stormy sea, Le Crotoy, Picardie, Northern France by Richard Parkes Bonington. The result of GBP 10,000.00 (€ 11,882.16) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Richard Parkes Bonington achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Palazzi Manolesso-Ferro, Contarini-Fasan and Venier-Contarini on the Grand Canal, Venice in October 2021 with an auction result of USD 7,387,800.00 (€ 6,395,256.23).

Im Juli 2016 führte Christies in London die Auktion Old Master & British Drawings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Fishermen in a stormy sea, Le Crotoy, Picardie, Northern France von Richard Parkes Bonington zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 10.000,00 (€ 11.882,16) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 10.000,00 – 15.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Richard Parkes Bonington erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Palazzi Manolesso-Ferro, Contarini-Fasan and Venier-Contarini on the Grand Canal, Venice im Oktober 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 7.387.800,00 (€ 6.395.256,23).
