In February 2000 Christies in London held the auction British and Continental Watercolours and Drawings, which included the work Going to the rescue by Richard Henry Nibbs. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 747.50 (€ 1,223.22), 50% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Richard Henry Nibbs achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Dutch passage boat in May 2005 with an auction result of GBP 10,200.00 (€ 15,058.40).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 50 % übertroffen
Im Februar 2000 führte Christies in London die Auktion British and Continental Watercolours and Drawings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Going to the rescue von Richard Henry Nibbs zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 747,50 (€ 1.223,22) und damit 50% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Richard Henry Nibbs erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Dutch passage boat im Mai 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 10.200,00 (€ 15.058,40).
