When the work Dutch passage boat by Richard Henry Nibbs was auctioned at Christies in London in May 2005, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - GBP 3,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than three times as high at GBP 10,200.00 (€ 15,058.40). This high result makes Dutch passage boat the most expensive artwork by Richard Henry Nibbs that we have observed at auctions so far.
