In November 2007 Sothebys in New York held the auction Sporting Art, which included the work American Pintails At Sunset by Richard Evett Bishop. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 12,000.00 – 18,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 12,500.00 (€ 8,510.35) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Even if this result could not surprise positively, American Pintails At Sunset is the most expensive artwork by Richard Evett Bishop that we have observed at auctions so far.
