In December 2013 Sothebys in New York held the auction American Art, which included the work Contemplation (Woman Seated Next To Birdcage) by Richard Edward Miller. The »bidding war« ended at USD 509,000.00 (€ 369,402.71), 45% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Richard Edward Miller - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Tea-Time, which sold at auction in November 2016 for USD 1,087,500.00 (€ 1,028,077.14).

Im Dezember 2013 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion American Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Contemplation (Woman Seated Next To Birdcage) von Richard Edward Miller zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 509.000,00 (€ 369.402,71) und damit 45% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Richard Edward Miller mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Tea-Time beobachtet, die im November 2016 für USD 1.087.500,00 (€ 1.028.077,14) versteigert wurde.
