Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Richard Doyle achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in December 2021. In the British and European Art auction, the work Fairies and squirrels in a forest sold for GBP 11,250.00 (€ 13,418.89) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 5,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Richard Doyle - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Elves in a Rabbit Warren, which sold at auction in June 2010 for GBP 25,000.00 (€ 30,402.33).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Richard Doyle erzielte im Dezember 2021 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion British and European Art wurde die Arbeit Fairies and squirrels in a forest für GBP 11.250,00 (€ 13.418,89) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 5.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Richard Doyle mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Elves in a Rabbit Warren beobachtet, die im Juni 2010 für GBP 25.000,00 (€ 30.402,33) versteigert wurde.
