Despite a disappointment, a good price for Richard Creifelds
In March 2004 a collector was able to acquire the work Portrait of Jon Vander Poel; and a Portrait of his wife by Richard Creifelds for USD 896.25 (€ 729.13). This price was achieved in the auction THE HOUSE SALE at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00 set by the auction house. Despite this disappointing result, Portrait of Jon Vander Poel; and a Portrait of his wife is the most expensive artwork by Richard Creifelds that we have observed at auction so far.
