Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Regimental studies by Richard Caton de Woodville was sold in the British and Continental Watercolours auction at Christies in London in March 2004. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 2,500.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 2,629.00 (€ 3,935.37). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Richard Caton de Woodville achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Bonaparte in Egypt, 21st July, 1798 'Soldiers! Fifty centuries look down upon you from the summit of the pyramids' in June 2000 with an auction result of GBP 80,750.00 (€ 127,998.69).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Regimental studies von Richard Caton de Woodville wurde im März 2004 in der Auktion British and Continental Watercolours bei Christies in London versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 2.500,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 2.629,00 (€ 3.935,37) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Richard Caton de Woodville erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Bonaparte in Egypt, 21st July, 1798 'Soldiers!
