In November 2008 Christies in London held the auction Christie's Interiors, which included the work The Henry Reed passing Dover (illustrated); and A French trader in the Channel by Richard Ball Spencer. The result of GBP 3,000.00 (€ 3,627.23) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Admittedly, works by Richard Ball Spencer have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Florentine in the Channel off Dover in May 2001 with an auction result of GBP 10,575.00 (€ 17,729.23).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im November 2008 führte Christies in London die Auktion Christie's Interiors durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Henry Reed passing Dover (illustrated); and A French trader in the Channel von Richard Ball Spencer zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 3.000,00 (€ 3.627,23) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Richard Ball Spencer auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Florentine in the Channel off Dover im Mai 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 10.575,00 (€ 17.729,23).
