Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work White and Brown Horse in a Farmyard with Dog by Richard Ansdell was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in January last year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 3,780.00 (€ 3,371.39). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Richard Ansdell achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Wounded Hound in November 2006 with an auction result of GBP 478,400.00 (€ 710,438.97).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit White and Brown Horse in a Farmyard with Dog von Richard Ansdell im Januar letzten Jahres bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 6.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 3.780,00 (€ 3.371,39) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Richard Ansdell erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Wounded Hound im November 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 478.400,00 (€ 710.438,97).
