Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In October 2004 Christies in London held the auction 20th Century British Art, which included the work Design For A Mural "The Exodus"; And Sketch For An Equestrian Portrait of Probably Edward James; by Rex Whistler. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 800.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 836.50 (€ 1,203.95). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Rex Whistler achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait Of Lady Caroline Paget in June 2017 with an auction result of GBP 68,750.00 (€ 78,293.42).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Oktober 2004 führte Christies in London die Auktion 20th Century British Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Design For A Mural "The Exodus"; And Sketch For An Equestrian Portrait of Probably Edward James; von Rex Whistler zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 800,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 836,50 (€ 1.203,95) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Rex Whistler erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Portrait Of Lady Caroline Paget im Juni 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 68.750,00 (€ 78.293,42).
