A top price for John Thomson of Duddingston
In May 2007 Christies in London held the auction The Scottish Sale, which included the work Self-portrait at an easel, 14 November 1816 by John Thomson of Duddingston. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 10,800.00 (€ 15,892.93), 35% above the upper estimate. With this result, Self-portrait at an easel, 14 November 1816 is even the most expensive work of art by John Thomson of Duddingston that we have observed at auctions so far.

Im Mai 2007 führte Christies in London die Auktion The Scottish Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Self-portrait at an easel, 14 November 1816 von John Thomson of Duddingston zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 10.800,00 (€ 15.892,93) und damit 35% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Mit diesem Ergebnis ist Self-portrait at an easel, 14 November 1816 sogar das teuerste Kunstwerk von John Thomson of Duddingston, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
