Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Rev. John Swete could be acquired at Christies in London in August 2011 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Christie's Interiors auction, the work View of Mount Edgcumbe and Penlee Point, Plymouth changed hands for GBP 350.00 (€ 395.26) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 400.00 – 600.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Rev. John Swete achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Views of Devon and Somerset: Bathing-place at Ilfracomb [sic (illustrated); Shalldon sic; Oxton House from the Octagon; The ruins of Berry Pomeroy Castle; A bridge over a river in spate; Ilford Bridge; Linmouth; Pixton Place, the seat of Lady Ackl|AID681630] in November 2010 with an auction result of GBP 5,250.00 (€ 6,273
John Swete erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Views of Devon and Somerset: Bathing-place at Ilfracomb [sic (illustrated); Shalldon sic; Oxton House from the Octagon; The ruins of Berry Pomeroy Castle; A bridge over a river in spate; Ilford Bridge; Linmouth; Pixton Place, the seat of Lady Ackl|AID681630] im November 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 5.250,00 (€ 6.273,74).
