Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Rev. Charles Annesley could be acquired at Christies in London in July last year for an unexpectedly low price. In the Old Master and British Works on Paper: Drawings, Watercolours and Prints 1500-1900 auction, the work Entrance to the valley of Chamonix changed hands for GBP 1,300.00 (€ 1,552.43) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Other works by Rev. Charles Annesley have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in April 2008 by the work The Monastery At Brescia, Italy at GBP 1,750.00 (€ 2,231.00).
