Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Leda And The Swan by Reuben Nakian was sold in the American Paintings auction at Sothebys in New York in March 2008. The price achieved of USD 3,438.00 (€ 2,175.26) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 2,000.00 – 4,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Reuben Nakian achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Head of Marcel Duchamp in November 2021 with an auction result of USD 26,562.50 (€ 23,533.71).

Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 3.438,00 (€ 2.175,26) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 2.000,00 – 4.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Reuben Nakian erzielen.
