Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Untitled, circa 2020 by Retna was sold in the Made in CaliforniaContemporary Art auction at Bonhams in April this year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 15,000.00 – 25,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 15,300.00 (€ 13,858.70) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Retna have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Sorcery of My Style in April last year with an auction result of GBP 100,800.00 (€ 120,200.44).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Untitled, circa 2020 von Retna wurde im April diesen Jahres in der Auktion Made in CaliforniaContemporary Art bei Bonhams versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 15.000,00 – 25.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 15.300,00 (€ 13.858,70) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Retna auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Sorcery of My Style im April letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 100.800,00 (€ 120.200,44).
