This artwork by Retna achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in July 2021. In the Trespassing auction, the work Resurrect the Life of a Scribe sold for USD 68,750.00 (€ 57,948.42) - well above the upper estimate of USD 35,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Retna - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Sorcery of My Style, which sold at auction in April last year for GBP 100,800.00 (€ 120,200.44).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Retna erzielte im Juli 2021 bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Trespassing wurde die Arbeit Resurrect the Life of a Scribe für USD 68.750,00 (€ 57.948,42) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 35.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Retna mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Sorcery of My Style beobachtet, die im April letzten Jahres für GBP 100.800,00 (€ 120.200,44) versteigert wurde.
