Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2021 Bonhams in London held the auction British and European Art, which included the work The river in summer by René Charles Edmond His. The price achieved of GBP 1,275.00 (€ 1,497.80) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by René Charles Edmond His achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Les Gorges D'El Kantara Près De Biskrarené-Charles-Edmond His ; The Gorges Of El Kantara Near Biskra ; Signed And Dated Lower Left 1901, Located Lower Left In Arabic El Kantara ; Oil On Canvas, Unframed in October 2012 with an auction result of EUR 102,750.00.
