Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work A Lake At Sunset by René Charles Edmond His was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in October 2020, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 1,512.00 (€ 1,298.19). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by René Charles Edmond His achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Les Gorges D'El Kantara Près De Biskrarené-Charles-Edmond His ; The Gorges Of El Kantara Near Biskra ; Signed And Dated Lower Left 1901, Located Lower Left In Arabic El Kantara ; Oil On Canvas, Unframed in October 2012 with an auction result of EUR 102,750.00.

Als die Arbeit A Lake At Sunset von René Charles Edmond His im Oktober 2020 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 1.512,00 (€ 1.298,19) den Besitzer.
