The work Another Portrait No. 20 by Ren Zhenyu was sold in the Contemporary Art Day Sale auction at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2020. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 85,680.00 (€ 9,489.76), 43% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Ren Zhenyu - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Mao No. 2, which sold at auction in October 2019 for HKD 187,500.00 (€ 21,430.97).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 43 % übertroffen
Die Arbeit Another Portrait No. 20 von Ren Zhenyu wurde im Oktober 2020 in der Auktion Contemporary Art Day Sale bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 85.680,00 (€ 9.489,76) und damit 43% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Ren Zhenyu mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Mao No. 2 beobachtet, die im Oktober 2019 für HKD 187.500,00 (€ 21.430,97) versteigert wurde.
