Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Untitled (The Fire Eater) by Rekha Rodwittiya was sold in the Centering the Figure: South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art from the Collection of Romi Lamba auction at Christies in New York in September last year. The price achieved of USD 2,520.00 (€ 2,575.90) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Rekha Rodwittiya achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work In The Illusion The Only Thing Missing Is That The Street Has No Other Side in March 2006 with an auction result of USD 36,000.00 (€ 29,656.48).
