Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Boat on the loch, twilight by Reginald T. Jones was auctioned at Christies in London in December 2006, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 200.00 – 400.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 60.00 (€ 89.05). Admittedly, works by Reginald T. Jones have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Brompton Road, Knightsbridge in February 2000 with an auction result of GBP 483.00 (€ 790.39).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Boat on the loch, twilight von Reginald T. Jones im Dezember 2006 bei Christies in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 200,00 – 400,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 60,00 (€ 89,05) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Reginald T. Jones auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Brompton Road, Knightsbridge im Februar 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 483,00 (€ 790,39).
