Artwork auctioned at three times the upper estimate price
The work A young lady, seated in white dress with lace collar, blue ribbons at her elbows, dark hair, wearing a gold necklace suspended from a black ribbon; landscape background by Reginald Easton was worth GBP 2,160.00 (€ 3,201.26) to a buyer in June 2005. This price was achieved in the auction Portrait Miniatures, Objects of Vertu & Icons at Christies in London and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of GBP 600.00 many times over. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Reginald Easton; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Portrait Of A Young Girl sold at auction in April 2008 with the realized price of GBP 4,375.00 (€ 5,577.51).
