Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Boy - Sword Swallower by Reena Saini Kallat was sold in the Asian Contemporary Art auction at Christies in Hong Kong in November 2007. The price achieved of HKD 199,500.00 (€ 17,439.95) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 160,000.00 – 240,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Reena Saini Kallat - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work without title, which sold at auction in May 2008 for USD 61,000.00 (€ 39,203.08).

Die Arbeit Boy - Sword Swallower von Reena Saini Kallat wurde im November 2007 in der Auktion Asian Contemporary Art bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 199.500,00 (€ 17.439,95) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 160.000,00 – 240.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Reena Saini Kallat mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit ohne Titel beobachtet, die im Mai 2008 für USD 61.000,00 (€ 39.203,08) versteigert wurde.
