Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2011 Sothebys in New York held the auction Modern & Contemporary South Asian Art, which included this untitled work by Reena Saini Kallat. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 25,000.00 – 35,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 27,500.00 (€ 19,389.41) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Reena Saini Kallat - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work without title, which sold at auction in May 2008 for USD 61,000.00 (€ 39,203.08).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2011 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Modern & Contemporary South Asian Art durch, in der auch diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Reena Saini Kallat zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 25.000,00 – 35.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 27.500,00 (€ 19.389,41) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Reena Saini Kallat mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit ohne Titel beobachtet, die im Mai 2008 für USD 61.000,00 (€ 39.203,08) versteigert wurde.
