This artwork by Raymond Materson achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in January this year. In the Outsider and Vernacular Art auction, the work Untitled (My Beautiful and Talented Kids Dave and Savannah) sold for USD 11,970.00 (€ 11,024.13) - well above the upper estimate of USD 5,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Raymond Materson - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Till Death Do Us Part, 1993, which sold at auction in February last year for USD 32,500.00 (€ 28,955.81).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Raymond Materson erzielte im Januar diesen Jahres bei Christies einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Outsider and Vernacular Art wurde die Arbeit Untitled (My Beautiful and Talented Kids Dave and Savannah) für USD 11.970,00 (€ 11.024,13) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 5.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Raymond Materson mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Till Death Do Us Part, 1993 beobachtet, die im Februar letzten Jahres für USD 32.500,00 (€ 28.955,81) versteigert wurde.
