A top price for Ray Smith - as previously expected
In May 2001 Christies in New York held the auction Latin American Sale, which included the work El chubasco (triptych) by Ray Smith. It changed hands for a price of USD 14,100.00 (€ 16,676.52) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, El chubasco (triptych) is the most expensive artwork by Ray Smith that we have observed at auctions so far.

Im Mai 2001 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Latin American Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit El chubasco (triptych) von Ray Smith zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 14.100,00 (€ 16.676,52) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist El chubasco (triptych) das teuerste Kunstwerk von Ray Smith, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
