Auction result misses estimated price range
In February this year a collector was able to acquire the work Yellow roses and lilacs sight 27 3/4 x 20 1/2in (70.5 x 51.4cm) by Raoul Maucherat de Longpre for USD 382.50 (€ 360.78). This price was achieved in the auction Discovery on Madison Online at Bonhams and was even below the estimate range of USD 2,200.00 – 3,800.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Raoul Maucherat de Longpre achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Roses, Cream; and Roses and White Lilacs on a Ledge: two works in October 2000 with an auction result of USD 28,200.00 (€ 33,231.20).
