In November 2006 Christies in London held the auction British and Continental Watercolours, which included the work Still Life of Yellow Roses And Lilac (Illustrated); And Still Life With Pink Roses And White Hydrangeas by Raoul Maucherat de Longpre. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 2,400.00 (€ 3,564.08), 20% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Raoul Maucherat de Longpre have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Roses, Cream; and Roses and White Lilacs on a Ledge: two works in October 2000 with an auction result of USD 28,200.00 (€ 33,231.20).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im November 2006 führte Christies in London die Auktion British and Continental Watercolours durch, in der auch die Arbeit Still Life of Yellow Roses And Lilac (Illustrated); And Still Life With Pink Roses And White Hydrangeas von Raoul Maucherat de Longpre zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 2.400,00 (€ 3.564,08) und damit 20% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Raoul Maucherat de Longpre auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Roses, Cream; and Roses and White Lilacs on a Ledge: two works im Oktober 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 28.200,00 (€ 33.231,20).
