In September 2004 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction Pictures, Watercolours and Drawings, which included the work Still Life With Cherries And A Lemon by Raoul Martinez. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 1,075.50 34% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Raoul Martinez have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Waalseilandgracht in October 2003 with an auction result of EUR 4,780.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis um 34 % übertroffen
Im September 2004 führte Christies in Amsterdam die Auktion Pictures, Watercolours and Drawings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Still Life With Cherries And A Lemon von Raoul Martinez zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 1.075,50 und damit 34% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Raoul Martinez auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Waalseilandgracht im Oktober 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 4.780,00.
