Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Seven-character Calligraphic Couplet in Running Script by Rao Zongyi was auctioned at Christies in Hong Kong in December this year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 80,000.00 – 150,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 88,200.00 (€ 10,205.75) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Rao Zongyi achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Auspicious Flowers and Fruits in October 2021 with an auction result of HKD 8,040,000.00 (€ 894,338.64).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Seven-character Calligraphic Couplet in Running Script von Rao Zongyi kam im Dezember diesen Jahres bei Christies in Hong Kong zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 80.000,00 – 150.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von HKD 88.200,00 (€ 10.205,75) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Rao Zongyi erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Auspicious Flowers and Fruits im Oktober 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 8.040.000,00 (€ 894.338,64).
