Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Grouse On A Hillside; Study of Ducks; Study of A Fish In Water by Ralston Gudgeon was sold in the British and Continental Pictures auction at Christies in London in August 2004. The price achieved of GBP 418.25 (€ 619.02) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 300.00 – 500.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Ralston Gudgeon - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work King Pheasant; Peacock; Hooded Crow 43 x 54cm (16 15/16 x 21 1/4in) and smaller. (3), which sold at auction in May this year for GBP 1,275.00 (€ 1,483.47).
