Auction result misses estimated price range
In November 2003 a collector was able to acquire the work A hawk with snipe by Ralston Gudgeon for GBP 47.00 (€ 67.47). This price was achieved in the auction At Home-British and Continental Pictures and Works on Paper at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 200.00 – 300.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ralston Gudgeon achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work King Pheasant; Peacock; Hooded Crow 43 x 54cm (16 15/16 x 21 1/4in) and smaller. (3) in May this year with an auction result of GBP 1,275.00 (€ 1,483.47).

Im November 2003 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit A hawk with snipe von Ralston Gudgeon für GBP 47,00 (€ 67,47) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion At Home-British and Continental Pictures and Works on Paper bei Christies in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 200,00 – 300,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ralston Gudgeon erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit King Pheasant; Peacock; Hooded Crow 43 x 54cm (16 15/16 x 21 1/4in) and smaller. (3) im Mai diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.275,00 (€ 1.483,47).
