Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Fishing vessels at low-tide by Ralph Reuben Stubbs was auctioned at Christies in London in January 2005, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 200.00 – 300.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 192.00 (€ 277.35). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ralph Reuben Stubbs achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Trafalgar, at the end of the day in November 2001 with an auction result of GBP 5,287.50 (€ 8,414.08).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Fishing vessels at low-tide von Ralph Reuben Stubbs im Januar 2005 bei Christies in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 200,00 – 300,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 192,00 (€ 277,35) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ralph Reuben Stubbs erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Trafalgar, at the end of the day im November 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 5.287,50 (€ 8.414,08).
