bears old attribution on the verso in pen and brown ink, just legible with infrared light: ..Raffaello d’Urbbino.. and a faint pencil inscription, most probably 19th-century, on the left, slightly above the lower margin: Scuola Romana / Raphaele fecit inv.;
bears numberings, verso: 2350 (blind stamped, upper centre), C.341 (in red chalk, upper left) and 7 and 4 (both black chalk)

Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Raffael could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in January 2019 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Old Master Drawings auction, the work A Standing Soldier In Armor Seen In Profile changed hands for USD 795,000.00 (€ 694,080.67) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 800,000.00 – 1,200,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Raffael achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Head Of A Young Apostle in December 2012 with an auction result of GBP 29,721,250.00 (€ 36,654,555.40).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Raffael konnte im Januar 2019 bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Old Master Drawings wechselte die Arbeit A Standing Soldier In Armor Seen In Profile für USD 795.000,00 (€ 694.080,67) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 800.000,00 – 1.200.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Raffael erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Head Of A Young Apostle im Dezember 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 29.721.250,00 (€ 36.654.555,40).
