The work Los Angeles No. 6 (Titian) by R. B. Kitaj was sold in the First Open auction at Christies in New York in August 2020. It achieved a price of USD 47,500.00 (€ 39,795.58), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 58%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by R. B. Kitaj achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Waiting in July 2015 with an auction result of GBP 317,000.00 (€ 449,399.53).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 58 % übertroffen
Die Arbeit Los Angeles No. 6 (Titian) von R. B. Kitaj wurde im August 2020 in der Auktion First Open bei Christies in New York versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 47.500,00 (€ 39.795,58) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 58%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von R. B. Kitaj erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Waiting im Juli 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 317.000,00 (€ 449.399,53).
