Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Kafka by R. B. Kitaj was sold in the First Open auction at Christies in New York in August 2020. The price achieved of USD 10,000.00 (€ 8,378.02) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by R. B. Kitaj achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Waiting in July 2015 with an auction result of GBP 317,000.00 (€ 449,399.53).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Kafka von R. B. Kitaj wurde im August 2020 in der Auktion First Open bei Christies in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 10.000,00 (€ 8.378,02) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von R. B. Kitaj erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Waiting im Juli 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 317.000,00 (€ 449.399,53).
