It achieved a price of GBP 20,000.00 (€ 23,438.03), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 67%. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Queen Victoria - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A Stag Shot By John Brown, which sold at auction in December 2017 for GBP 45,000.00 (€ 50,640.91).

Die Arbeit Portrait of Princess Louise (1848-1939), head and shoulders, in a blue dress von Queen Victoria wurde im März 2017 in der Auktion Victorian, Pre-Raphaelite & British Impressionist Art, Maritime Art, Sporting & Wildlife Art bei Christies in London versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 20.000,00 (€ 23.438,03) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 67%. Für andere Arbeiten von Queen Victoria mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A Stag Shot By John Brown beobachtet, die im Dezember 2017 für GBP 45.000,00 (€ 50.640,91) versteigert wurde.
