This artwork by Queen Victoria achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in December 2015. In the Victorian, Pre-Raphaelite & British Impressionist Art auction, the work Head Of A Maid, In Profile To The Left, In A Blue Dress, With Ribbons In Her Hair sold for GBP 30,000.00 (€ 40,738.56) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 15,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Queen Victoria; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot A Stag Shot By John Brown sold at auction in December 2017 with the realized price of GBP 45,000.00 (€ 50,640.91).
