The work Oh, My Motherland by Qiu Jie was sold in the Asian Contemporary Art (Day Sale) auction at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2011. It achieved a price of HKD 325,000.00 (€ 29,072.76), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 63%. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Qiu Jie; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Portrait of Mao sold at auction in June 2018 with the realized price of GBP 31,250.00 (€ 35,317.83).

Die Arbeit Oh, My Motherland von Qiu Jie wurde im Mai 2011 in der Auktion Asian Contemporary Art (Day Sale) bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von HKD 325.000,00 (€ 29.072,76) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 63%. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Qiu Jie; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Portrait of Mao im Juni 2018 mit dem Hammerpreis von GBP 31.250,00 (€ 35.317,83).
