This artwork by Qin Bingwen achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in November 2019. In the Exquisite Eye: Chinese Paintings Online auction, the work Landscape after Ancient Masters sold for HKD 87,500.00 (€ 10,148.38) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 30,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Qin Bingwen; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Sentiments Inspired by the Mountains sold at auction in May 2013 with the realized price of HKD 175,000.00 (€ 17,354.48).
